PRODUCT MARKETING MANAGER

 Position Summary

The Regional Product Marketing Manager (RPMM) is a market and business-savvy professional who has responsibility and involvement for all aspects of Wacom’s professional pen tablet and pen display products.  The RPMM will develop and implement strategic and tactical marketing plans to expand Wacom’s market leadership position in the Americas region, and will lead initiatives, implement projects, and analyze / communicate results. The RPMM will have a significant focus on the planning, development and cross-functional execution of an initiative to popularize Wacom’s professional products in the CAD market. Some prior experience in the CAD hardware or software markets is necessary. The PMM is the champion of the customer experience, and will be expected to understand and be able to develop customer profiles, segmentation, and core positioning strategies.  The PMM is responsible for defining the scope for communications requirements, promotional campaigns, demand generation programs, and developing co-marketing relationships. The PMM will serve as the liaison between customers, partners, influencers, and other functional areas and he/she will be responsible for effective and timely planning and coordination.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

¨      Develop business plans for entering developing CAD market segments

¨      Maintain and evolve existing product positioning, pricing, promotion, key messages and benefits to assure profitability and market share leadership. Strong written communication skills are essential.

¨      Coordinate with and provide support for Wacom PR to assure effective communication and favorable review outcome.

¨      Develop and implement product launch plans including the scope and timing requirements for: PR, collateral, sales tools, web content, internal/external training, events, first customer ship date, and customer maintenance programs.

¨      Plan and manage the development and implementation of promotional programs, including bundle configurations, and affiliate relationships.

¨      Develop written briefs to clearly define scope of products/activities/deliverables to guide cross-functional efforts.

¨      Create and implement formal product management communications (bulletins) to transfer key information to other Wacom functions, partners, and channels.

¨      Develop and deliver presentations to evangelize Wacom products to key customers, industry partners, media members, and influencers.

¨      Provide expertise and functional requirements for integrating pen tablet support into specialized software applications with a focus on CAD applications. Provide the product development team with regional customer requirements, enhancement requests, customer profile analysis, and recommendations to address trends in the marketplace.

¨      Develop product requirements documents (PRD) for the definition of regional product configurations.

¨      Motivate and influence cross-functional regional teams as well as coordinate with global counterparts to develop and execute harmonized plans.

¨      Perform competitive analysis to support strategic and tactical product line management in the marketplace.

¨      Prepare market research and analysis to support strategic and tactical product management programs and projects.

¨      Manage alliance relations, which provide a leadership image, product leadership, marketing effectiveness, and market penetration (includes beta/seeding for product evaluations)

¨      Assure pro forma plans and forecasts meet market demand requirements.  Work with operations and sales to ensure adequate stock (especially during peak seasons), minimize overages, and manage EOL transitions.

SECONDARY FUNCTIONS

¨      Support and staff special events, such as industry and regional trade shows.

¨      Manage Advertising and Promotional expense budget related to the evangelism and evaluation of professional products

¨      Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS (Education/Experience)

Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Engineering, Computer Science or related field. Prefer technical orientation.  Master in Business Administration a strong plus.  Possess 6+ years prior product/market management experience in a PC or Macintosh related development, manufacturing and marketing company.  MBA with less experience will be considered.  Prior knowledge and experience in computer peripherals, CAD industry, Graphic, web or product design, multimedia, digital imaging, or content creation is preferred.  Knowledge of graphics-intensive hardware and software preferred.
