JOB PURPOSE

The Consumer Products Brand Director is responsible for the attainment of Wacom’s brand mission, revenue, profit, and company goals for branded consumer products through the planning, development, implementation and management of Wacom’s marketing strategy and activity in the America’s region.

The Consumer Products Brand Director will report to the VP of Marketing for the America’s region.  This person will work closely with functional leadership/staff to achieve fiscal year and mid-term plan objectives.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Develop and manage the corporate and product brand strategy for Wacom’s consumer business in America’s region.

¨       Develop clear positioning, messaging and communication strategies.

¨       Work with Sales to develop and implement channel strategies and programs which reinforce Wacom’s brand mission.

¨       Work with Marcom and the consumer product marketing manager to develop packaging and documentation, advertising, PR, promotions and sales support materials, websites and other tools for partners.

¨       Lead and coordinate with team to create market awareness and demand generation results by activities such as Internet awareness and engagement campaigns, seminars, channel training, channel trade events, newsletters, advertising and special promotions, channel programs, PR, and so forth.

¨       Coordinate with Global Brand and Product Management Teams related to global brand and marketing development objectives and new product initiatives.

¨       Manage Product Line and Life Cycle to achieve brand mission, competitive differentiation, and growth/profit objectives.

¨       Create and implement fiscal year channel marketing plans including effective sales tools for use by Wacom staff, distributor sales teams, and reseller accounts.

¨       Collaborate with Sales Executives in gathering, reporting and measuring the effectiveness of channel and partner marketing initiatives and adjust accordingly.

¨       Analysis and reporting of market data and trends (e.g. economic trends, channel trends that will affect purchases by reseller account base, customer segment trends, etc.).

Support successful introduction of new products through effective pre and post launch activities, sustaining launch activities, and well-coordinated, channel partner launch plans.

Initiate, develop, and manage strategic relationships with partners (e.g. ISV relations, channel partners, corporate accounts, and other relations key to achieving market and revenue goals).

Work closely with Marcom to develop and manage press and marketing agencies including goal setting and regular performance measurement.

Research and analyze key competitors, maintaining updated view of competitive market conditions.​  Work with team to implement measures to maintain Wacom’s brand differentiation.

Assist with the identification of new product opportunities and product feature enhancements that will meet the needs of American markets.

Contribute to departmental reporting on a monthly basis.

Travel estimated at 30% on average, sometimes more and sometimes less.  Travel is required domestically and occasionally internationally.  This position requires a willingness to travel.

SECONDARY FUNCTIONS

  • Responsible for effective coordination with all departments regarding consumer marketing plans and activity to ensure efforts are aligned with company objectives.
  • Identify, qualify, and manage Wacom’s product demonstrations in key industry events targeted towards end users.
  • Travel and participate in trade shows, account management meetings, and other special events as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS (Education/Experience)

The Consumer Products Brand Director possesses a BA/BS or equivalent in business administration with marketing emphasis (MBA is a plus).  She/he should have a minimum of 6 years previous international, national and/or regional marketing experience in a consumer electronics related company with a deep understanding of consumer brand management, consumer engagement, and consumer demand generation.

Represents intimate experience with consumer retail, e-commerce, and alliance partners. Has ability to lead marketing working closely with all corporate functions. Successful track record in helping to grow revenue through national promotion plans and in close coordination with distribution and key resellers through merchandising, ROP and other reseller programs.

This person demonstrates proficiency with modern Internet marketing methods and techniques, computer literacy, and personable interpersonal communication.  This person is results oriented and possesses strong organization and effective writing skills.
